A made-to-measure or ready-made blind simply refers to the manufacturing process of your blind. For made-to-measure, you’ll need to provide the exact measurements of your window and your blind will be created to fit, whereas a ready-made blind comes pre-packaged, to be installed straight away, you just need to ensure you choose the right size.
But what else separates these two blinds?
The right price
Choosing made-to-measure blinds or curtains is expensive, right? Wrong.
Made-to-measure products will of course encounter a slightly higher price due to the fact that there’s more labour involved than in ready-made blinds, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t affordable.
The perfect fit
A common problem with ready-made blinds is having too much material that sits on your window sill when the blind is down. While this might not be the worst problem – the blind will still block out light – it can cause issues if your home battles with condensation. Particularly with material blinds, having excess blind material pressed against a window that has condensation can lead to damp, and sometimes moldy, blinds!
It’s easier than you think
If you’d love a made-to-measure blind but are put off by the prospect of having to take the measurements yourself, fear not.
A matter of time
If you’re choosing a ready-made blind in-store, you do have the added advantage of being able to take it home straight away. But a made-to-measure blind takes much less time to order than you may at first think.
It’s all in the control
While there might be a great range of ready-made blinds to choose from, nothing gives you the control over how the end product will look than a made-to-measure blind. Take a look at our range today, and get in touch should you have any questions.
