How to operate awning / canopy window
The majority of windows utilized in residential properties are not produced in standard dimensions; instead, they are custom-manufactured to accommodate the specific openings present. While builders may commonly use certain sizes for awning windows, such as 36 x 36 inches or 48 x 42 inches, these represent only a minor segment of the overall market. In fact, it is more cost-effective and efficient for manufacturers to create new windows tailored to individual specifications rather than maintain an inventory of the virtually limitless available sizes.
Any size awning window can be made as long as it’s within the allowed size restrictions. At some point, the window becomes too small to fit the operating mechanisms inside the window or too big for those to hold the window’s weight. The double-pane awning window should not be wider than 48″ and higher than 72″. For triple-pane heavier windows, it’s 40″ x 60″.
